This information is from the meeting notice originally scheduled for Mar 24, 2020:
Dear Neighbors of Churchill Downs Park,
My last update to you was some time ago. I’m writing to update you and to let you know we are moving forward, beginning with a public meeting.
Update
Based on the need to protect wetlands and preserve trees and highway buffer at Churchill Downs Park, we had revised our original plan. Instead of two large basins at the park, we were planning to have only one. The remaining storage needed would have been captured in a basin upstream, outside the city. After unsuccessful attempts to procure an easement for the second basin upstream, we’ll be moving forward without.
We have adapted the design to maximize stormwater storage at Churchill Downs Park, which gets us very close to the intended design, at a bit more cost. This will still be accomplished with a single basin at the north end of the Park, by Scio Church Road. I’d like to present this plan/cost/scope to you and restart the design process with an eye to construction in 2021.
I will be sending out mailings to those of you whose property abuts the Park. I will also post on Nextdoor when we get a bit closer to the meeting date. Please feel free to share with others in the neighborhood, particularly those on west side of Wiltshire Court.
