DDA People Friendly Streets virtual meetings Mar 9th,10th,11th

The DDA is holding public engagement sessions for the next round of People-Friendly Streets projects on March 9th, 10th, 11th. There will be five virtual workshops over this three-day period.

The Ann Arbor DDA is seeking public feedback and input on a range of infrastructure projects under consideration in downtown Ann Arbor. This multi-day workshop will consist of several presentations, open discussions, and small group feedback sessions with DDA staff, city staff, and the consultant designers and engineers to discuss each of the projects under consideration. These projects include:

  • State Street Project (from Washington to William)
  • Division Street Bikeway (from Packard to Catherine)
  • Miller/Catherine Street Improvement Project
  • 4th Avenue Street & Transit Improvement Project
  • Future Downtown Infrastructure Projects

DAY ONE: TUESDAY, MARCH 9, NOON – 1:30PM

People-Friendly Street Program Overview

There are exciting things planned for our downtown streets to make a safer, healthier, and more equitable space for all people! In this session, design team members will provide an overview presentation of the DDA’s People-Friendly Street program and will introduce the projects under discussion during the workshop.

A facilitated question and answer period and feedback survey will follow the presentation. A recording of the presentation will be provided following this session on this webpage.

DAY ONE: TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 4 – 5:30PM

Aligning Values & Infrastructure

Infrastructure plays a vital role in shaping the health and well-beings of our communities. Join us in this presentation and discussion, where the design team will share approaches for designing and implementing public infrastructure projects that align with community values – with an emphasis on equity, safety, pandemic response, and resilience.

A facilitated question and answer period and feedback survey will follow the presentation. A recording of the presentation will be provided following this session on this webpage.

DAY TWO: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, NOON – 2PM

Community Design Workshops

You have ideas, and we are ready to listen! This 2-hour session will provide a 30-minute overview presentation of the infrastructure projects that are advancing through the People-Friendly Street process.

Following the presentation, workshop participants will have the opportunity to attend virtual breakout rooms, where participants will be able to talk directly with the design team and provide their feedback on specific project ideas.

A recording of the overview presentation will be provided following this session on this webpage. Virtual feedback will be available for public view throughout the process.

DAY TWO: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 4 – 6PM

Community Design Workshops

This session will be structured the same as for the midday session (see description above).

DAY THREE: THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 4 – 5PM

Community Wrap-up & Next Steps

You spoke – we listened! Please join us in this presentation, where the design team will report out on key findings and feedback generated during the workshops. Recommendations will be shared for advancing projects forward.
