May 4, 2019 | Ward 4 News

The Friends of Greenview and Pioneer Nature Areas is holding their annual Spring workday on May 18, 2019. Bring your wheelbarrow, sleds, rakes, and shovels to help maintain the woods near Pioneer High School. I helped out with this last year – this is a great local group!

Spring WorkDay

Meet at either Greenview/Scio Church or Glen Leven/Woodland Dr

(See map below)

From their website:

The organization is committed to the maintenance and improvement of the Greenview and Pioneer Nature Areas as an ecologically functional open space.  The Nature Area, which is owned by the Ann Arbor Public Schools and managed by the City of Ann Arbor, includes meadows, woodlands, pond, and community garden.  The site provides a great variety of habitats for native plants and animals.  The Friends of Greenview and Pioneer Nature Areas promotes the native landscape restoration of this unique resource, encourages use of the property for environmental and outdoor education activities by the Ann Arbor Public Schools, and recognizes the importance of the property as a nature area for area residents.
