As part of the Hoover/Greene/Hill Improvement project, there will be traffic closures on Hill Street and Greene Street from Sept 23 through Nov 15, 2019. I’ve copied the City’s press release below, as well as the official detour map.
Notice of Temporary Traffic Control Plan:
Hoover, Greene and Hill Improvement Project
Monday, Sept. 23 at 9 a.m.– Friday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m.
Location and Limits of Affected Area:
Closure of Hill Street from Main Street to South Fifth Avenue. Closure of Greene Street from Hill Street to north of Hoover Street.
Description of Work:
The city’s contractor, E. T. MacKenzie, and subcontractors will be performing utility and road work on Greene Street (East Davis Avenue to Hill Street) and on Hill Street (Brown Street to South Fifth Avenue) as part of the second phase of the Hoover, Greene and Hill Improvement Project. In addition, the contractor for the 950 Greene development project will be performing utility and road work on Greene Street (East Davis Avenue to north of Hoover Avenue). Construction activities involve water main installation, storm sewer improvements, road preparation and placement of new pavement.
Temporary Traffic Control Plan:
Beginning Monday, Sept. 23, traffic control devices will be set up to detour traffic around closed roads. Local traffic will have access maintained to all properties.
- Traffic intending to travel eastbound on Hill Street will be detoured on Hoover Avenue to Division Street to Hill Street.
- Traffic intending to travel westbound on Hill Street will be detoured on Division Street to Madison Street to Main Street to Hill Street.
- Traffic intending to travel on Fifth Street will be detoured on Hoover Avenue to Division Street to Madison Street to Fifth Avenue.
- Traffic intending to travel on Greene Street will be detoured on Division Street to Madison Street to Main Street to Hoover Avenue to Greene Street.
