Aug 5, 2019 | Construction

The following update was emailed on Aug 5, 2019 by Chris Wall, Project Manager for the City of Ann Arbor. For any questions or concerns with this project (or to be added to his email list of construction updates), he can be contacted at 734-794-6410 ext 43661 or by email at cwall@a2gov.org

The following work by the contractor is planned for this week:

  • Paving the south side of Hoover Avenue between Division and State Street.
  • Road work on Hoover Avenue between Greene Street and Main Street.
  • Completing storm sewer installation on Greene Street, north of Kipke and south of Hoover.
  • Road work in the State Street & Hoover Avenue intersection.

There are no anticipated water main shutdowns this week.

DTE, under their own permit with the City, has completed their pipeline installation and has some follow-up restoration work to complete in isolated sidewalk locations along Hoover.

Greene Street, north of Kipke to south of Hoover, continues to be closed for utility and road work. Traffic is being detoured via Main Street to Hill Street route.

The State Street & Hoover intersection was closed for concrete and paving work starting last Friday, August 2nd and extends through Wednesday, August 14th. State Street and the Hoover intersection will reopen temporarily for the international soccer game between Friday, August 9th at 5pm to Monday, August 12th at 9am. The southbound State Street detour will be routed south on Packard, west on East Stadium Blvd, south on Industrial Pkwy, west on Stimson and back to State Street. The northbound detour will route east on Stimson, north on Industrial Pkwy, east on Stadium Blvd, north on Packard, and back to State Street.

On-street parking is still restricted on portions of E. Davis, Brown, Greene, Division, Mary, and Sybil to facilitate construction and traffic circulation. No Parking signs are posted in those affected road sections. Tuesday, August 6 is election day in the City and parking is allowed on the west side of Mary, adjacent to the polling location.

Mail should continue to be delivered throughout the duration of the project. As well, trash pickup will continue as scheduled. Please let us know if you experience disruptions on either.
