The following update was emailed on Sept 2, 2019 by Chris Wall, Project Manager for the City of Ann Arbor. For any questions or concerns with this project (or to be added to his email list of construction updates), he can be contacted at 734-794-6410 ext 43661 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
State Street was opened last Thursday and Hoover Avenue and Greene Street (south of Hoover) were opened last Friday in time for a busy weekend. Construction activities for this week will involve manhole adjustments, road surface preparation, placement of the top course of pavement, and pavement markings. This work will require the re-installation of the Hoover Avenue and Greene Street (south of Hoover) road closures and applicable detours. Local traffic will be maintained. Once the remaining road work is completed, then Hoover Avenue will be reopened to all traffic.
Most sidewalks are opened with the exception of the sidewalks closed due to the 950 Greene Project at the northwest corner of Hoover and Greene.
Traffic impacted by the Greene Street closure, north of Kipke to south of Hoover, are detoured via Main Street to Hill Street route. Traffic impacted by the Hoover Avenue closure are detoured via State Street, Packard, Hill Street, to Main Street route.
Temporary on-street parking restrictions are being evaluated and some restrictions may be removed. Please beware of No Parking signs in those affected road sections.
Mail should continue to be delivered throughout the duration of the project. As well, trash pickup will continue as scheduled. Please let us know if you experience disruptions on either.
The US Postal Service (USPS) collection blue box at the southeast corner of Hoover & Greene has been reinstalled
