Hoover/Greene/Hill Project Update Sept 8th

Sep 11, 2019 | Construction

The following update was emailed on Sept 8, 2019 by Chris Wall, Project Manager for the City of Ann Arbor. For any questions or concerns with this project (or to be added to his email list of construction updates), he can be contacted at 734-794-6410 ext 43661 or by email at cwall@a2gov.org

Much has been accomplished in the last few months and we appreciate your continued patience.

Last week the contractor placed pavement markings on Hoover Avenue and Greene Street (Kipke to Hoover), thus signifying much of the work along Hoover has been completed. The project now moves into the second phase of work with the focus on Greene Street (Hoover to Hill), Hill Street (Adams to Fifth), and the intersection of Kipke/Greene/Keech.

Greene Street (Hoover to Hill), Hill Street (Adams to Fifth), and the intersection of Kipke/Greene/Keech will be closed to through traffic (local access is maintained) during this phase and detours are provided to reroute traffic. Traffic impacted by the closures will be routed along a detour consisting of Hoover to Division to Madison to Main Street.

This week, the City’s contractor, is planning to work on the following:

  • Water main work in Hill Street (Adams to Fifth). Additional information on any anticipated temporary water service shutdowns will be shared and doorhangers provided on affected properties.
  • Road work in Hill Street (Adams to Fifth) and Greene Street (Davis to Hill).
  • Road and sidewalk work at the Kipke/Greene/Keech intersection.
  • Continued restoration and sidewalk improvements at selected areas along Hoover.

Based on information provided to the City, the ‘950 Greene’ development’s contractor, is planning to work on road, water main, and storm sewer work this week on Greene Street between Hoover to Davis.

Temporary on-street parking restrictions are being removed on Sybil and Mary. As part of the 950 Greene development project, temporary on-street parking restrictions will remain on Brown and Davis. Please beware of No Parking signs in those affected road sections.

Mail should continue to be delivered throughout the duration of the project. As well, trash pickup will continue as scheduled. Please let us know if you experience disruptions on either.
