Maywood Ave Construction Update Aug 1st

Aug 2, 2019 | Construction

The following update was emailed on Aug 1, 2019 by Tesha Humphriss, Project Manager for the City of Ann Arbor. For any questions or concerns with this project (or to be added to her email list of construction updates), she can be contacted at 734-794-6410 ext. 43672, or at thumphriss@a2gov.org

We are scheduled to start pouring curb and driveway approaches tomorrow!  Expect to see a lot of activity on site in the next few days, the concrete subcontractor is scheduled to be onsite Friday and Saturday of this week, and then back on Monday, August 5th.

This afternoon we placed door knockers on the doors of those residents that will have restricted access to their driveways.  Once the new curb is installed in front of your home the end of your driveway will be closed off for at least 72 hours.  The notice stated “if you will be using your vehicles during this time, please park legally on an adjacent street or on this street before and after construction hours.  If you are on the street overnight, we do request your car is moved by 7:00 am the next morning.”

Note – the contractor WILL NOT be on site Sunday, 8/4.

The door knocker had a date of either 8/2 or 8/5 for when the curb in front of your driveway will be poured.  The homes on the west side of Maywood (even addresses) need to have cars out of the driveway by 7 AM tomorrow morning.  The homes on the east side of Maywood (odd addresses) need to be out of your driveways by 7 AM Monday morning, August 5th.

This is one of the most disruptive parts of construction, as you and all of your neighbors will be parking on adjacent streets for a few days.  The good news is paving is coming soon – I will share that date with you once it is finalized.
