Maywood Ave Construction Update May 31st

Jun 1, 2019 | Construction

The following update was emailed on May 31, 2019 by Tesha Humphriss, Project Manager for the City of Ann Arbor. For any questions or concerns with this project (or to be added to her email list of construction updates), she can be contacted at 734-794-6410 ext. 43672, or at thumphriss@a2gov.org

The City’s Contractor, Douglas N. Higgins, has mobilized equipment and has begun stockpiling materials at the site.  The asphalt surface was removed on Wednesday of this week, and the driving surface of the road will stay in a gravel state until the utility work is completed, which is currently scheduled for some time in August.

The contractor does not intend to work this weekend, and plans to be back onsite on Monday, June 3rd.  Part of the storm sewer improvements include setting two new storm sewer structures on the existing storm sewer pipe.  The new structures will be located in the roadway surface of Maywood, the first will be located about 200-feet south of Stadium and the second will be located about 200-feet north of Avondale.  It is expected this work will take place on Monday through Wednesday of next week.

Water main installation is expected to begin at the end of next week. The contractor is planning on starting the water main installation near Stadium and Maywood and moving south along Maywood towards Avondale.

Trash and recycle collection will be maintained throughout the project.
