The City has information on this project at:
In order to resurface the intersection of Scio Church Road and Seventh Ave, beginning 9:00 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2019, eastbound Scio Church Road traffic will be detoured north along Greenview Drive to West Stadium Boulevard, then east along West Stadium Boulevard to South Main Street, then south along South Main Street to Scio Church Road.
One lane of westbound traffic will be maintained at all times along Scio Church Road between Chaucer Drive and South Seventh Street during this phase of the project; and local access will be maintained to all properties. The Scio Church Road Service Drive will remain accessible during the work as well. (See the map below)
Scio Church Road between South Main Street and Chaucer Drive will be reopened to two-way traffic when the new phase of traffic control is implemented.
This construction project is scheduled to finish Friday, June 14, 2019 (weather permitting).
Additional notes from Pioneer High School:
The northbound lane of S. Seventh will be closed at Scio Church for 2-3 weeks. All northbound traffic will be detoured onto Greenview Dr. to Stadium Blvd. You will only be able to reach the S. Seventh St. loop at Pioneer by driving southbound on S. Seventh and turning left into Pioneer.
The Pioneer entrance will be open but we advise avoiding the potential traffic backups in this area during drop off and pick up by using the “flag pole”/athletic entrance at Pioneer.
The sidewalk along S. Seventh will remain open.
Description of Work:
The City of Ann Arbor is continuing its work of resurfacing Scio Church Road between South Main Street and South Seventh Street with the repair of the north half of the Scio Church Road/South Seventh Street intersection (weather permitting.) Should the weather impact the planned traffic switch, it will be performed as soon as the weather permits. The to-be-implemented stage of the project is the final phase and will work within the intersection of Scio Church Road and South Seventh Street and complete the sidewalk along the north side of Scio Church Road.
