https://www.a2gov.org/departments/engineering/Pages/South-Industrial-Highway-Project.aspx

Updated materials include:

  • Open House meeting summary
  • Updated design concept for construction
  • Frequently asked questions

The construction project is expected to begin, with traffic controls, on May 10, 2021.

I posted previously about the public meeting and survey here:

From the project website:

Why is this project being done?

The existing concrete pavement is failing and in need of repair. The infrastructure repair project provides an opportunity to incorporate non-motorized transportation features along the corridor.

By reducing the number of lanes south of Stimson from 4 lanes to 3 lanes, continuous bicycle lanes can be provided along both sides of the entire South Industrial Highway corridor.

How might the project affect you?

  • Driveway access to all businesses will be maintained within the project limits for the duration of the planned work
  • Given that the proposed work will be extensive and time-consuming, the work will unavoidably disrupt normal traffic and business operations along South Industrial
  • Vehicular traffic and bus routes in the vicinity of the project will be impacted as a result of the planned work
  • Dust, noise, and inconvenience will be prevalent due to the nature of the planned construction
